The Multi-Frequency Spectral Display is a real-time presentation of the F1, F2 and F3 components of speech production. The data in each frequency range appears as vertical bars, the height of which indicates relative strength. F1 appears in red, F2 in blue, and F3 in green. A trace along the top edges of the display summarizes the frequency levels in live fashion. You can elect to freeze the trace at any point and use it as a model for practice. The sample shown illustrates the trace of a correct 'R' production, and the colored bars show production of 'OO'. This live feedback most helpful for learning sounds that can be sustained. |
